Born from a family adventure
Hello — I'm Swati. Together with my 2 kids, we are the game designers of Fastrek. It all started during Covid in 2021 when my spouse told my kids that "we have bought enough games and they need to be creative and build their own pretend-play game." We never could have imagined the far-reaching consequence of this benign statement.
From a mock-game built on a plain sheet of paper to the professionally designed game was quite a journey — 2 years of working with teams across boundaries. The game was designed by our kids and I in Seattle, the graphics were designed in Manchester, UK, and the game was finally manufactured in China.
Fastrek is a game that begins with a trek and ends at a campsite — something we always do in real life. That is the essence of the game and also how our kids picked up the idea.
